Sri Lankans CC vs Fellows CC

October 11, 2009 – UN Ground Nicosia

The highly anticipated clash between defending champions Sri Lankans CC and title hopefuls Fellows CC turned out to be a one sided affair as Sri Lankans CC made short of Mike Kyriacou’s team with a 120 runs bashing at the UN Grounds in Nicosia on Sunday.

Batting first Sri Lankans CC made mockery of Fellows CC bowling and amassed a staggering total of 270 runs in allotted 40 overs. Even more surprising was the fact that none of the Fellows CC bowlers were able to make any sort of impression against the Sri Lankans CC to justify the tag of title hopefuls.

The defending champions charge was led by a masterful knock of 67 runs by newcomer Budhika Dhegolla, who received good support from Kapila Wickram (47), Manjula Kandage (44), and Sampath Tsangarides (40).

In reply to Sri Lankans total of 270 runs Fellows could only muster 150 runs and crumbled in face of tight bowling from Kapila Wickram (3 wickets) and Dilrukh Mathews (3 wickets).
