FIRST GAME FOR THE CYPRUS SQUAD

Half centurians Khan and Kashif made their mark on the first practice game of the season for the Cyprus national team.

Cyprus is hosting the championships this September, competing against Finland, Slovakia, Luxembourg, Austria and Switzerland. Playing at home in front of home support, Cyprus has the best chance it will ever have of taking the winnerπs medal.

This game brought all the players in the Cyprus squad together, the coaches looking for batting and bowling combinations, giving each player a chance to find his role in the team.

It is very early days, with many practice sessions and games ahead. With some early form for Khan (71 no)and Kasif (54 no), and impresive bowling figures from Rafiq (3 for 6 from 5)and Christos Markides (1 -30 from 9), Kashif (3 -31 from 9) and Khan 1-18 from 6, this was an encouraging start.
