The
schools league starts this Wednesday, May 14th.
Four
schools, two from the Larnaca district and two from the Limassol district, are competing,
for the Cyprus Youth cup sponsored kindly by Steve Carr from Pax Insurance.
This
is the second year of the Youth league. Last year KRS were crowned champions
and are the team to beat. Newcomers American Academy Larnaca have a tough
inauguration this Wednesday at Dhekelia.
The
games are 25 overs per side with a maximum of five overs a bowler.
Four
points are available for the winning side with bonus points for batting and bowling.
There is one batting point for a score of 75, a second for 100 and a third for
125. There is one bowling point for 5 wickets and a further two bowling points
for bowling a team out. So there are ten points available.
Although
the teams are organized by the schools there is no reason why a boy or girl
from another school should not play for one of the teams in their area.
