In an exciting development for Cyprus Cricket, the CCA has signed a long term lease on a piece of land in Tochni Village - roughly halfway between Limassol and Larnaca. Since cricket started in the 1980s, the vast majority of games have been played on military grounds. When development of the ground is completed (hopefully by Spring 2016), Cypriot cricketers will have their own ground and facilities.
Because of limited funds, the ground development is taking place in stages over the next few years. The first is to move some trees and flatten the ground - this took place in December 2015, in February 2016 the concrete pitches were laid down.
The next stage is the installation of a watering system and, finally, sowing of grass seed on the outfield.
