Lally powers Mustangs to a brutal victory over shell-shocked
Moufflons
In a one sided game, Mustangs recorded a comprehensive 105 runs win over Moufflons at Lakatamia Municipality
Stadium.
Mustangs opened the batting with captain Satnam and last year’s T20 star player Neeraj Tiwary. The two
openers started confidently and were cruising serenely when Malik Sheraz took a well judged catch at Silly Mid Off to get rid off Tiwary (19). Couple of overs later Muhammad removed Bimal (9) and
in the following over, Malik took a blinder at Silly Mid Off position to remove Sachin off the bowling of Sharma. Mustangs reached the drinks interval with the score at 81/3.
After the interval, Satnam along with Lally, kept the scoreboard ticking. However, Malik Sheraz introduced
in the 15th over, ended Satnam’s (41) well crafted innings with a slower ball. In the following over, Jeet removed the new batsman Jassi (7) and further reduced Mustangs to 127/5 after 16
overs.
With only 4 overs remaining, Kulwinder joined Lally on the crease and the two wreaked havoc as they pulled,
pummelled, and propelled Mustangs to a position that completely paralysed the Moufflons. The brute force of Lally (51) and the elegant stroke play of Kulwinder (18) pushed the score past the 200
runs mark and helped Mustangs post an imposing total of 211/6 in 20 overs.
In reply, a shell-shocked Moufflons never got going and crumbled to Mustangs. The 3 run outs in the innings
tells the story as the overwhelmed batsmen struggled to make any impression. Manjeet with a career best 22 made sure Moufflons get past the 100 runs mark as the innings finished in the 15th over
with the score at 106.
