Fellows batted first, losing their top three batsmen for 18 runs to Dhekelia”s opening quick bowler Hornbuckle, who cleverly suckered Fellows batsmen into false shots. A spirited 27 from Balbir Singh followed by a 70 run partnership from no 6 and 7 bats Niroshan and Tim Katsapas pulled the game back for Fellows, leaving them with a defendable 184 for 9 after their 40 overs.
Dhekelia were steady through their innings, keeping far enough ahead of the required run rate for a comfortable win. Fellows medium pace seemed ineffective. After 30 overs Dhekelia were 146 for 5, with no 4 Orr already on a half century and seemingly invincible.
Spinner Hamja had already bowled 3 overs for 21 and to bring him back was a brave decision. But his next three over brought 4 wickets for 3 runs and with Mike K forcing Orr into edging the ball to a diving Shoiab in the slips for 62, it was left to the final pair to get ten runs. Hamja bowled no 10 Roe and that was Fellows victory.
Fellows 184 for 9 from 40 overs
Dhekelia 174 all out from 37.5 overs.
