Delight for Qalandars and Markhor as Cyprus sets off for Finland

Sunday’s round of group matches in the 2022 CCA #BAOGroup T20 Cup at Ypsonas saw a win for Qalandars in a closely contested Limassol derby and a vital win for Markhor which propelled them into the super-6 stage at the expense of Riyaan. The focus now turns to the Cyprus national team, which sets off this week for a World T20 Cup qualifying event in Finland, following a number of training sessions at the Happy Valley ground to sharpen their skills.

Markhor triumph in nail-biter and remain in contention

Markhor CC came through a nail-biting finish to their Group A match against Limassol Moufflons to win by just two runs and keep their hopes alive in the 2022 CCA #BAOGroup T20 Cup. Playing at the Ypsonas ground on Sunday, Markhor knew that only a win would give them any chance of reaching the next phase of the competition, and they set off with intent by rattling up an impressive 212-5 from their 20 overs.

Napa Kings qualify, but Riyaan will have to wait on Markhor

Sunday’s matches in the 2022 CCA #BAOGroup T20 Cup went some way to clarifying the qualifying positions for the final stages, which will take place next month. The top two teams in each of the three groups will progress to a Super-6’round to determine the champions.
